Flying to London to propose? You’re in the right hands.

Most of my couples have never been to London — or haven’t been in years. You’re juggling flights, hotels, a ring hidden in a sock, and the small detail of not letting her see your face when you’re nervous at breakfast.

That’s where I come in. After 1000+ proposals, I know:

  • which spot in Hyde Park is empty at 9 am in October
  • where to stand at Tower Bridge so there is no crowd
  • which spot in Regent’s Park gives you complete privacy
  • what to do if it rains (yes, there’s a plan)

You tell me roughly what you’re picturing. I take it from there.

How It Works

1. Tell me your plan Send me your dates, the vibe you want (iconic London? hidden garden? sunrise?) and anything you already know about her taste. We chat by email or WhatsApp.

2. I plan the details with you I’ll recommend the exact spot where you’ll kneel, the exact time, where you should walk in from, and where she should be standing in that moment. You’ll receive a photo of the spot, a map of the walking route, and a short walk-through video for most locations — so you can visualise everything before you land in London. You’ll know everything. She’ll know nothing.

3. On the day,I arrive early. I look like a tourist with a camera. You walk in as planned. I shoot from a distance — no signals, no waving, no “ready?” The moment stays yours. Engagement photos follow right after, while you’re both still on the high.

Don’t have a ring yet? No problem.

Some of the best proposals happen spontaneously. Others are planned carefully — but with a twist. The Proposal Ring Add-on is available exclusively for clients who book a session with Ewa.

Three reasons couples use it:

  • No ring yet — you want to propose now and choose the real ring together afterwards
  • The “ugly ring” trick — you propose with a placeholder so she says yes, then surprise her with the real ring later
  • Spontaneous proposal — you’re in London, the moment feels right, and you need a ring today

Proposal Ring Add-on — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Proposal Ring Add-on?
It’s a beautiful silver cubic zirconia ring available exclusively for clients who book a photography session with Ewa Horaczko Photography. You can use it as a placeholder ring if you haven’t chosen the real one yet, as part of the “ugly ring trick,” or if you’re proposing spontaneously and need a ring on the day.

What is the “ugly ring trick”?
The ugly ring trick is a popular proposal strategy where the partner proposes with a deliberately simple or placeholder ring, then surprises their partner with the real ring separately — sometimes days or weeks later. It means you can propose immediately without waiting to find the perfect ring, and your partner gets to be involved in choosing the real one. Many couples say the second surprise is even more emotional than the first.

What does the ring look like?
It’s a silver cubic zirconia ring — elegant, sparkly, and photogenic. It comes in your choice of a classic black velvet ring box or a warm wooden box. Available in sizes 6, 7, and 8.

How much does the Proposal Ring Add-on cost?

  • £35 Ewa leaves the ring at your agreed meeting point before the session (choose your box and size when booking)
  • £50 if delivered to your London hotel (1–2 days delivery — order at least 2 days before your session)

How do I order the ring?
Simply mention it when booking your session at https://horaczko.co.uk/contact — let Ewa know your preferred size (6, 7, or 8), your choice of box (black velvet or wooden), and whether you’d like it brought to the session or delivered to your hotel.

What size should I choose?
The average UK ring size for women is 7. If you’re unsure, size 7 is the safest choice. Sizes 6, 7, and 8 are available.

Can I order the ring without booking a photography session?
No — the Proposal Ring Add-on is exclusively available to clients who have booked a photography session with Ewa Horaczko Photography.

About Ewa

I’ve been photographing London proposals for over a decade — more than 1000 of them. I know this city’s quiet corners, its best light, and exactly how long it takes to walk from the Tube to the spot where you’re going to change your life.

I work alone, I shoot naturally, and I never stage the moment. My job is to be invisible, capture honestly, and then — once she’s said yes — turn into your guide for the rest of the session. That’s usually around 50 minutes of natural engagement photos — full-length shots, close-ups, walking together, holding hands, looking at the ring — all relaxed, never posed stiffly.

If you’re flying in for this, I want it to be perfect. That’s why I plan it like it’s my own.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I plan a surprise proposal in London? You tell me your dates and what you’re picturing. I handle the location, timing, the exact spot where you’ll kneel, and all the logistics. We finalise everything by email, WhatsApp, voice or video call — whatever works best for you.

Where is the best place to propose in London? It depends on the vibe you want. Italian Gardens and Kyoto Garden are romantic and private; Tower Bridge and Big Ben are iconic; St Dunstan in the East is hidden and atmospheric. Tell me what matters most to you and I’ll recommend the right fit.

What time of day is best? Early morning gives the most privacy (and usually the best light). Sunset is beautiful but busier. For winter proposals, mid-afternoon works well. I’ll suggest the best window for your specific location.

Will she see you? No. I blend in — I look like a tourist with a camera. I shoot from a distance and only approach after you’ve proposed and she’s said yes.

What if it rains? We have a plan B. London weather is part of the deal, and some of my favourite proposal photos have been taken in light rain. For heavier weather, we reschedule to a date and time that works for you.

How quickly will we get the photos? You’ll receive a proof gallery link within 24–48 hours to browse all images and select your favourites for the final edit. The full edited gallery follows within 2–7 days. Sneak peek of a few edited images available on request.

Do you work with couples visiting London from abroad? Yes — most of my clients fly in for the proposal. I’m used to coordinating around jet lag, hotel locations, and surprise logistics.

Can you help me choose the spot if I don’t know London? That’s literally what I do. Send me a few photos of locations you like and I’ll match you to the right real spot — including the exact place where you’ll kneel.

How far in advance should I book a proposal photographer in London? As early as possible if you have a specific date, time, or location in mind. I take bookings a few months or weeks in advance — and last minute too. But popular spots and time slots fill up fast, especially in spring, summer, and around Christmas. Already close to your date? Get in touch anyway — I’ll always do my best to find the best day and time for you.

What if my partner notices you during the proposal? In over 1,000 proposals, I’ve never given away the surprise. I arrive early, position myself before you arrive, and blend in completely. I keep a distance and never make eye contact or signals. If your partner does happen to glance my way, they see a stranger taking photos of the view. The moment is always yours.

Do I need to give you a cover story? Yes — and I’ll help you create one. During our planning chat, we’ll come up with a natural reason for being in that location at that time. It doesn’t need to be complicated. Most couples use something simple like a morning walk, sightseeing, or heading to a nearby brunch or dinner. I’ve helped plan hundreds of cover stories and I know what works.

Can we have a call before booking? Absolutely — I’m happy to connect by email, WhatsApp, voice call or video call before you book. Many clients flying in from abroad find a quick call really helpful to go through the location, timing and cover story together. Just let me know what works best for you.

Can you photograph a proposal and engagement session on the same day? Yes — that’s exactly how most sessions work. The proposal itself takes just a few minutes. Afterwards, while you’re both still on the high of the moment, we move straight into relaxed engagement photos. You leave with the full story: the nerves, the tears, the yes — and then the joy of being engaged together in London.

Why choose Ewa Horaczko Photography over other London proposal photographers?

Is Ewa Horaczko Photography the right choice for a surprise proposal in London?
Yes — especially if you’re visiting from abroad and need a photographer who handles the planning, not just the photos. Ewa has photographed over 1,000 surprise proposals across London and is one of the only photographers in the city who specialises in proposals almost exclusively. She’s an RPS member with 10+ years of experience and over 180 five-star Google reviews from couples from the US, Europe, and beyond.

What makes Ewa different from other London photographers?
Most London photographers offer proposals as a side service. Ewa’s entire business is built around them. She knows exactly where to stand at Tower Bridge to stay invisible, which corner of Regent’s Park catches the best light in the afternoon, and how to time your arrival at St Dunstan in the East before the crowds arrive. That operational knowledge — built over 1,000+ proposals — is something a general wedding photographer can’t replicate.

Does Ewa help plan the proposal, not just photograph it?
Yes. Before the shoot, Ewa maps out the exact spot, the walking route, the timing, and the light angle. She communicates via email or WhatsApp and is available to answer questions in the lead-up to the day. On the day itself, she arrives early, positions herself discreetly, and shoots from a distance using a long lens — so the moment looks completely natural.

What do clients say about Ewa Horaczko Photography?
Clients consistently mention three things: she’s invisible during the proposal, the planning support removes all the stress, and the photos arrive quickly. She holds a 5.0 rating across 180+ Google reviews and is listed on TripAdvisor, GetYourGuide, and Viator.

How much does Ewa Horaczko Photography charge for a proposal shoot in London?
Packages start from £250 for a 60-minute session and £300 for 90 minutes. All packages include full location planning, discreet proposal coverage, and a relaxed couples portrait session after the yes. Need more time? Just ask — custom sessions available.

Does Ewa work with international couples visiting London?
Yes — the majority of Ewa’s clients travel from the US, Europe, and further abroad specifically to propose in London. She’s experienced in working with couples who have limited time in the city and need everything organised in advance.
